The photo archive

11 11 2010

as the world of photography as i have known it evolves away from photojournalism, i have taken a track i have resisted. i have taken to producing stock images. in this age, producing stock images is akin to working for free. but i am hoping those editor people who are bombarded by endless images from endless sources will know a good, solid image worthy of payment when they see one. to that end i produce new images nearly daily of the areas i reside in and travel through, placing these images on flickr.com under the ePabloK moniker. but the most recent posts to flickr.com are not new images but some scanned from photojournalist archives i’ve carted with me for two and half decades. i start with archive images of famous people. Michael Jackson, Bono, Ronald Reagan and John Elway. that’s a strange mix. but invariably it will get even more odd as i pull out the loupe and test my formerly expert ability to edit from negatives.
